GENERAL SUBMISSIONS
Iskanchi Press is returning to its regular publishing model of two issues per year, beginning with our Fall issue.We previously accepted submissions exclusively for the Iskanchi Prize. Going forward, we will no longer run the prize as a standalone submission category. Instead, we are returning to open submissions for our biannual issues, and all work submitted during these periods will be considered for publication.All contributors whose work is selected for publication will receive an honorarium of $50.The Iskanchi Prize will continue as an annual award, but it will now be selected from work already submitted to and published in the magazine. At the end of each prize cycle, our editors will choose one outstanding piece from the pool of published works to receive the Iskanchi Prize of $100.There is no separate submission required for the prize. All submissions to our regular issues are automatically considered.Our next submission window will open in the Fall, with the first issue under this renewed structure to follow. In addition to magazine submissions, we also welcome manuscript submissions (including chapbooks and full-length works) for consideration under Iskanchi Press. Manuscripts should be submitted via email with the subject line “Manuscript Submission.”For submissions to our Fall issue, please include “Fall Issue Submission” in the subject line of your email.

Iska Press
For Iskanchi Press, we accept book-length manuscripts in every genre provided that they honor the craft of writing and are written by Africans in English or in translation. We want books about Africa and Africans, books that tell untold stories of the lived and imaginary experiences of being African. We accept completed manuscripts in word or Pdf format. Manuscript submissions should include a synopsis, cover letter, and author bio.

Iskanchi Mag
For Iskanchi Mag, send in your irreverent and disobedient work too short/small to stand alone as a book. We are committed to showcasing works that engage with and examine what the experimental form looks like in the African literary context. We accept unsolicited prose submissions. All submissions must be previously unpublished.

Honoraria:
Work accepted for the Fall Magazine Issue will receive $50 honorarium upon publication.
- Include a short cover letter (250-character maximum), a bio, and social media links
- Simultaneous submissions are accepted, but we ask that you inform us immediately should your work be accepted elsewhere.
