The bold US independent publisher joins the Unified Book Distribution network, opening doors to Simon & Schuster's North American reach and a strengthened European sales presence.

Iska Press is known for bold literary fiction and nonfiction with a focus on cultural identity and contemporary international voices. We are announcing a new distribution partnership with Unified Book Distribution (UBD) — a move set to significantly expand the press's reach on both sides of the Atlantic.

UBD is the sales and distribution arm of the Unified Publishing Group (UPG), a strategic alliance formed by Forefront Books (US), Histria Books (US), and Unicorn Publishing Group (UK).Through UPG's landmark deal, all member publishers now benefit from Simon & Schuster's sales and distribution network across the United States and Canada—one of the most powerful channels available to independent publishers in the English-language market.

For us, this partnership represents a major step forward in our mission to bring urgent, globally relevant voices to wider audiences. Our titles—spanning literary fiction, translated literature, and nonfiction engaging with issues of power, identity, and belonging—will now be available through a network built for both scale and editorial prestige.

What this means for Iska Press readers and stockists:

  • US and Canadian distribution powered by Simon & Schuster.
  • Access to UBD's UK sales force and European market expertise.
  • Dedicated marketing support, including biannual catalogues and trade promotions.
  • Presence at the London and Frankfurt international book fairs.
  • Full bibliographic and metadata management across Edelweiss, Amazon, and Nielsen.
  • UPG's formation follows a wider wave of independent publishers creating strategic alliances to gain economies of scale and greater market power, a trend reshaping independent publishing in 2026. By joining UBD, we have aligned with a forward-thinking group that combines UK heritage credibility with deep US market expertise.

Booksellers, librarians, and readers seeking our titles can expect broader availability, improved discoverability, and the same commitment to distinctive, boundary-pushing voices we are known for.
